Top Reds Prospects: No. 23

Last season rule 5 pickup Travis "Moose" Mattair surprised at Bakersfield where he was their top run producer. Previously he had lackluster results in the Phillies organization which were interrupted by a hiatus when he dabbled with basketball. Continued improvement by the 24 year old against higher level competition will force his name in consideration for MLB duty as a corner infielder.

Of all the players in this list Travis Mattair took the most unique road getting here. The Reds acquired the 2007 second round selection from the Phillies before last season via the Rule 5 draft. His story gets more interesting because that was the second time he left that organization.
