Barnhart is Considered Reds Top Catching Prospect

Four Cincinnati prospects were protected from next month's Rule 5 draft when the Reds added them to their 40-man roster. The moved signaled a likely removal of someone from one of the other spots when they make room for free agent Skip Schumaker.

Cincinnati added four prospects to their 40-man roster to protect against losing them in the Rule 5 Draft this year. Catcher Tucker Barnhart, pitcher Chad Rogers, outfielder Juan Duran, and outfielder Ryan LaMarre are now one step closer to making it to the MLB level.
