Dayton Moves into First Place

At 20 years of age Carlton Daal might appear to be young for the Midwest League, but he doesn't appear that way at the plate. He's started off hitting over .300 and taken ownership of the Dragon's shortstop position.

Dayton exploded for seven runs in the third inning before cruising to a 10-2 win at Great Lakes to take over first place from the Loons. Sammy Diaz led off the inning with a double and scored the first run on a two-run single by Phil Ervin.
