Cincinnati Draft

As this year's draft continued Cincinnati went off the beaten path to pick up prospects. In their twenties rounds they selected players from Cumberland, Catawba, three junior colleges, and a Canadian who is the son of a Reds scout. Add in four college seniors and they should not have many problems signing most of them before the short season.

After the first ten rounds of this year's draft most of the Reds picks were college players expected to be easier to sign. They're probably expecting to save some good money below slot value to go after some college-bound talent from later picks. There will be an attempt to prevent twelfth-rounder Montrell Marshall from going to Auburn, but some of their picks in the teens were rolls of the dice...
