Solarte went 3-for-5 with a double

Aragua infielder Yangervis Solarte played a key role in his club's offensive outburst on Monday, going 3-for-5 with an double. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action in the Texas Rangers' system.

Dominican Winter League


Playing in the Dominican Republic's lone contest on Monday, Cibao right fielder Nelson Cruz was 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout. He also committed a fielding error, his first of the campaign.



Venezuelan Winter League


Yangervis Solarte played a role in Aragua's offensive outburst, going 3-for-5 with his 10th double and 21st run batted in.

Zulia catcher Juan Apodaca, signed to a minor league deal by the Rangers earlier this offseason, struck out in all three of his plate appearances on Monday. The outing lowered his batting average to .176.

Elvis Andrus' average dropped to .132 after he went 0-for-4 with a punchout in his game.
