Votto Snapped Slump With Game-Winning HR

Friday provided no rest for the Reds. Fresh off a series win over division rival St. Louis they opened up a home series against division-leading LA. Mike Leake overcame a rocky start, Joey Votto snapped out of a slump, and Aroldis Chapman continued his dominance out of the pen as Cincinnati brought down a close win and cut a game off their deficit behind division-leading Pittsburgh.

The pennant stretch continues for Cincinnati and right after a series win over St. Louis they opened up a three game set against division-leading Los Angeles at Great American Ball Park Friday. They got a leg up on winning another series with a 3-2 win over the red-hot Dodgers.
